Participants in the dissemination workshop organised within the Sinfonia project on 12.09.2019 visited the Institute of Building Biology + Sustainability IBN in Rosenheim. They got an insight into the fields of work of the institute and had the opportunity to visit the building. The existing one-storey circular curved building in solid construction (erected in 1955, previously used as a grocery store) was extensively renovated, converted and supplemented by an upper floor in timber construction and a winter garden with stairs in 2014. Three main objectives particularly emphasized within the renovation process included the use of renewable and mineral building materials, the creation of a healthy indoor climate and the reduction of electro smog. The heating demand of the renovated building amounts 20 kWh/m2a (calculated according to PHPP), and electricity is produced on site by means of a photovoltaic system (output: 9.4 kWp). The building meets the EnerPhit standard of the Passive House Institute.
